trees

trees Trees was born in 1941 in Aalsmeer as the daughter of the owner of a rose nursery. As a child you had to participate in the company and she is therefore good at fluffing roses, ie removing side branches from roses. Later she went to work in a women's fashion store, but when she met her husband in Diemen and married him, she had to give up her profession as a married woman. That's how it was at the time. During her children's primary school period, she helped out at school with needlework and reading. She was happy to contribute. Later on she took VOS courses (Women Orient themselves on Society) and she experienced that as pleasant and very instructive. Trees Romans was raised Catholic and is still a member of the Deaconie that cares for fellow human beings. In the Petrus Banden church she was recently awarded for her volunteer work in the church. A few years ago she also received an award from the municipality for her commitment to Welfare Diemen. Trees: “that appreciation did me good”. At the beginning of the conversation, Trees immediately indicates that she is afraid of coming across as someone who has to show what she does if necessary. She doesn't say that out of false modesty. All her volunteer work is about a kind of give and take: “You do something for the other person, but you also get a lot in return. Doing good for others is also doing good for yourself. You also get a lot of energy from volunteering.” It has been given to me is the mantra that appeals to her. You do something for the other but you also get a lot in return Still, you can't ignore the fact that the list of volunteer work that Trees considers 'given' is long. In addition to the Diaconie for which she organizes a senior day, she is very active for the Buurthulpdienst of [site_title] . She is present every Wednesday morning in the Brede HOED and does many odd jobs. For example, Trees helped with the preparations for the distribution of the newsletter and with the preparations and implementation of the biennial Meeting evening in the Omval. She has also made home visits to the elderly for a number of years, with the aim of providing information about various facilities for this target group in Diemen. These are just a few of the many activities she (has) performed for [site_title] and Welzijn Diemen. When asked if she herself is lonely, she answers resolutely in the negative: “I have a busy social life and I am short of time every week”. Oh yes, she also helps with bingo in the Diem! The many volunteer work does her more than good! Share these stories and inspire others to help too! Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Whatsapp Forward
