Shopping Help Guidelines
The 16 guidelines for Shopping Help
When you go shopping for someone, keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Make appointments by phone about when and where the groceries will be done
- Also discuss whether you want compensation for any travel costs (guideline: 30 cents per km). Agree when these will be settled.
- The person you do your shopping for (during the Corona crisis) does not go to the store
- Keep an appropriate distance at the door (minimum 1,5 meters)
- Preferably go through the shopping list by phone in advance
- The groceries are picked up as much as possible in 1 store / supermarket
- Make clear agreements about finances. We advise that the person who does the shopping receives a rounded amount of money (preferably in an envelope). That amount should be higher than the expected costs for the groceries. Plus a coin for the shopping cart
- Never take a debit card or credit card from the person you are shopping for and do not pin for him or her either
- Don't hand the money in hand, put it on a flat surface
- Write down for yourself how much money you have received and ask the person you are doing this for to do the same
- Ask the person you do the shopping for to check the receipt and change immediately after shopping
- If something is not right, please report it immediately
- You can wait outside when bringing the groceries. If you do go inside, keep this visit short and keep your distance. If necessary, you can help store the groceries.
- Don't shake hands, wash your hands regularly or disinfect them
- If you don't feel well, hand this job over to someone else
- Telephone contact afterwards is of course always nice, the social aspect is also important!
