When you have made contact with a person who needs help via Diemenvoorelkaar.nl, it is wise to make an introductory meeting to see if it clicks. Here too, it is important to be aware of your safety. Diemenvoorelkaar has prepared the following tips for you that you can use as a guideline:
NB Due to the corona measures: keep an eye on the website of the RIVM !
For the latest measures: check the website of the central government!
Tip 1
If you are looking for help as a private individual, and the website does not help you, or if you would like personal contact about this, please contact the Diemenvoorelkaar team: 020-3144700. We'll figure it out together.
Tip 2
Diemenvoorelkaar works with a reference system. Has a help provider responded to your request for help? Always check whether this person already has thanks and/or references on Diemenvoorelkaar (or NLvoorelkaar.nl).
Tip 3
Would you rather not meet at your home for a first acquaintance? Then meet in a public place such as the Brede HOED, the community centre, the library or a café nearby. And bring a friend or family member with you to the introductory meeting.
Tip 4
Ask the volunteer or professional for a legal ID and check it. An honest person will have no problem with this.
Tip 5
You can ask for the Chamber of Commerce number from professional help providers and check it at http://www.kvk.nl .
The Chamber of Commerce number is also checked during registration by the national team of NLvoorelkaar.
Tip 6
Trust your feeling. How does the person make you feel? What makes you feel this way? Do you want to build a personal relationship with this person?
Tip 7
During the introductory meeting, make clear agreements about the help that is offered, the way of dealing with each other and/or any reimbursements and insurance. If desired, you can draw up and sign a contract together.
Tip 8
In some cases, you could ask the help provider for a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). The VOG is a statement showing that a person's behavior does not constitute an obstacle to the performance of a specific task or function in society. The assistance provider can request this from the municipality. Read more about this on the website of the Ministry of Security and Justice.
Tip 9
